Our Work

Vision

A community where everybody has equal opportunities to experience and gain from the many benefits of climbing and the outdoors.

Mission

Providing expertise and resources to enable industry-wide change and support new developments.

Aims

Creating new experiences and opportunities designed specifically for, and with, people currently underrepresented and under-served in climbing and the outdoors. Assisting organisations with barrier recognition and removal.

We’ve worked on a range of different projects promoting equitable opportunities in climbing, here are some examples of previous projects. You can find out more about our current events and opportunities through our blog, or contact us if you’d like to talk about working together.

Previous Projects…

A black woman climbs at an indoor bouldering gym, the photo is taken from the top of the wall looking down and she smiles at the camera.

Confidence Through Climbing

Funded by the Transformation Fund Community Pot, we ran free climbing sessions for women of colour aged 18+. We used climbing as a tool to form connections and increase confidence.

Rock Climbxr Course

We’ve run two Rock Climbxr Courses where we work together with our community partner Climbxr to give people the opportunity to take their climbing outdoors and try bouldering.

Someone is on top rope climbing up a wide chimney formation in the rock and looks relaxed and happy. Beneath them there are others getting ready for their turn to climb.

OUTO - Peak District Event

This event was supported by the Opening Up The Outdoors Changemaker Programme. We introduced new climbers to the outdoors with support from instructors at Beyond The Edge.
